Institute Fee for Containerized Cargo effective June 19, 2011
Dear Valued Customer:
Please be advised Horizon Lines has filed a corresponding Guam Customs Cargo Clearance Fee under Rule 752 in tariff HRZD-353, which governs the movement of cargo between the US and Guam. The Guam Customs Cargo Clearance Fee is a pass-through charge from a measure taken by the 31st Guam Legislature on May 12, 2011 under the Administrative Adjudication Law. The charge will apply on Guam inbound cargo only.
The resulting Guam Cargo Clearance Fees will be as follows:
(i) Five (5) U.S. dollars for the first 4000 pounds (shipping weight) or less of non-exempt cargo, whether consolidated or not, entered per carrier bill of lading;and
(ii) .0012 U.S. dollars for every pound (shipping weight) of non-exempt cargo respectively thereafter.
(iii) The total service charge per carrier bill of lading shall be rounded to the nearest U.S. cent.
The fee has also been filed in Horizon Lines’ Guam tariffs HRZD 344 and 961.
