Dear Valued Customer,
Horizon Lines has amended its Fuel Surcharge filing covering the Guam trade. Effective Monday, July 14th, 2008, the Fuel Surcharge will increase by 6%, from 33.75% to 39.75%. The amended Fuel Surcharge has been filed with the Surface Transportation Board and covers Horizon Lines’ tariffs 353, 344 and 961. These tariffs govern shipments moving between the continental U.S. and Guam.
This Fuel Surcharge adjustment is the result of the continuing unprecedented escalation of the cost of fuel. Horizon Lines understands that this adjustment impacts your cost of doing business, just as these fuel cost increases have affected our cost of providing service. Horizon Lines is undertaking every effort to maximize the efficiency of our fuel usage and therefore mitigate the impact of the higher cost of fuel to both Horizon Lines and our customers.
Horizon Lines will continue to closely monitor fuel costs and will adjust the Fuel Surcharge as trends warrant.
We sincerely appreciate your continued support.
